Ullstein Taschenbuch

In the summer of 1877, Leopold Ullstein laid the foundation stone for one of the most successful publishers of the early 20th century. He bought the Neue Berliner Tageblatt and in the same year the Berliner Zeitung , creating liberal votes against the conservative press in Prussian Berlin. Later the first German magazine came onto the market with the Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung . And another new format developed into Germany's largest daily newspaper: the Berliner Morgenpost . When Leopold Ullstein died in 1899, his five sons continued to run the company successfully. 1904 came with the BZ at noonone of the first modern tabloids added. The BZ soon had the reputation of being the fastest newspaper in the world. In 1914 the Vossische Zeitung rounded off the publishing empire.
